The buds on the forsythia bush outside my townhome are starting to plump up. It won’t be long before one of the first spring-blooming shrubs is putting on a show. I feel a bit sorry for the forsythia, since it would like to grow to 6, 7 or more feet tall and wide but there is not space for it here, and aggressive pruning has kept it small.
